Event Name
For the first time, IIDR’s flagship course Journey Through the Quran(JTQ) will be delivered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. JTQ has been delivered over the past decade and a half with over 25,000 registered students.
Journey Through the Quran (JTQ) is a public education course that seeks to provide a concise overview of the key messages and themes of the entire Quran. This is done by systematically working through the chapters of the Quran from beginning to end, presenting stories such as those of the great prophets and key themes including belief, spirituality, knowledge, the hereafter, piety, good actions, patience, gender relations, arrogance, humility, social justice, ethics and the art of co-existence.
The systematic teaching approach enables attendees to better understand the characteristics of each chapter in the Quran including their virtues, reasons for revelation and naming. In addition, students will acquire a vocabulary of a thousand words from the Quran, many of which occur frequently throughout the Quran.
The JTQuran book (not included in the course fee), a hardback book (which can be purchased separately on the day) contains unique mind-maps for each chapter allowing you to visualise the main sections and themes of each chapter on a single page.
Upon completion of the course, attendees can expect to lear
> 99 personal development lessons based on Quranic teachings
> Key messages, themes and stories to assist long-term learning
> A cohesive summary and overview of all 114 chapters
> The Quran in context and application: navigating Quranic values in the contemporary context
Course Format
JTQ will be taught over 4 days with 6 sessions per day. With breaks between each session, attendees will have the opportunity to network and meet fellow participants.
A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the course. On the last day of the JTQ course, iftar will be provided to all participants.
